Is the Wizards of the Coast conjuring something up?
It seems that Renton, Washington based “Wizards of the Coast” (now a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc.) is teaming up with UK video game developer Stainless Game to produce a new online downloadable game.
Wizards of the Coast is the company that made trading card games hip. Card games such as Magic: The Gathering. Pokemon has a lot to thank Wizards for making card based games such a success.
“Wizards of the Coast has created many of the most popular brands in roleplaying, trading card and tabletop strategy games” said Patrick Buckland, CEO for Stainless Games. “We’re proud to be working with one of the most treasured IP’s in the games field in a true partnership which will produce a real gaming revolution later next year.”
Details aren’t too clear on what kind of game it will be but more details will be available in early 2008.
I’m guessing the online game will be a online version of the Wizards trading card type game. You won’t physically own the cards except it’ll be online and probably have some cool action sequences added for the fights and wins…
