Good news for Xbox 360 fans, it looks like Microsoft has finally started to release the newer Xbox 360 systems with the Jasper motherboard which uses a new 65-nanometer ATI graphics chip.

With the new chip, the board should run a little cooler.

The perks of the Japser board is that it will have 256 megabytes of Flash to store new avatar-based interface like the Wii. The older Xbox 360 system only has 16 MB of flash.

Xbox360 leads sales over PS3

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Reading about the Xbox lead over the PS3 in the Seattle PI blog, it seems that Xbox 360 have been outselling the PS3 for the last two months.

Sales of the Xbox 360 is seen to be contributed by Microsoft’s decision to offer a price drop for their Xbox 360.

Sony’s Steve Koller states the sales of the Xbox 360 will not last through the holidays because sales boosts from price drops have a “shelf life” of 2-3 months.

A chart in the Seattle PI also shows that the Nintendo Wii is truly the king of game consoles so does the battle between the PS3 and the Xbox 360 matter - well not to the king at this moment…

John Koller, head of hardware marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment America says piracy has slowed down on the PSP and believes that by offering their first-party PSP games as downloads on the PlayStation store is one way of combating piracy.

Hardware sales of PSP units are consistent month-to-month but does not see sales of PSP software in the NPD Group’s top ten.

Koller keeps track of PSP-related message boards and Sony keeps a very close eye on the discussions on websites promoting video game piracy.

It had to happen sooner or later.

It’s an idea that should have been put out by Microsoft but wasn’t. Now, a talented hacker has worked on his Xbox360 to turn it into a slot loading system instead of the tray loading system.
