Green PSP

Green PSP

Compared to the PSP2 rumors in a previous post, it is now more a reality that the PSP2 is in the works.

A comment by a former COO of Acclaim, David Perry said, “I hear Sony finally has the PSP 2. And thank goodness, they’ve removed the stupid battery-sucking UMD disc drive. I’m excited!”

In a follow up, David said that he was certain the PSP2 will not have a UMD drive but he could not reveal who he got the information from.

Xbox Live Closed To Your Kind

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

When it comes right down to who can play what, who can go where, and who can make decisions for others, it shouldn’t be up to a minor few who want to harass a person or company to follow the wishes that they want to bully people into submission.

A woman on Xbox Live was harassed and followed by several other online players who would stalk her and follow her to games that she was playing and telling people to report her to Microsoft because she was offensive. Offensive for being a lesbian.

Another issue was for a man who used his real name, “Richard Gaywood” and was suspanded just because his name contained “Gay” in it.

Now, I just find that a simple solution would be to create a 18 and over online area for adults. It’s such a simple solution and one that has worked in the old days of BBS forums.

Drop That PS3 Sony!

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

The US economy is going down the drains and Sony knows it. They see the increase in Xbox 360 sales figures and they know the PS3, as wonderful as they believe it is isn’t winning the console wars, especially against Nintendo’s Wii which still beats out Microsoft and Sony in sales!

In a statement by Mike Hickey from investment firm Janco Partners, he believes Sony will drop the price of it’s PS3 units by as much as $100 dollars. Other speculations is that Sony would sale the PS3 without a Blu-Ray player. But the speculation is will a price cut in 2009 help PS3’s stagnant sales?

Sony says they will make a big announcement in the next few days.

Xbox Live Half As Popular

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

Microsoft has kept quite about how many people actually pay for Gold status on Xbox Live but somone more inclined on the accounting side has taken a look at projections and found that only half of the people who use Xbox Live actually pay for it.

I prefer the Playstation and Wii format of offering free online service for multi-player gaming but who knows how long before Sony and Nintendo follow suit. Microsoft is making money, and their statement is that they made 1 billion in profits from subscription fees.

Download Invincible Tiger: Legend Of Han From Your Xbox or Plasystation Network

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

Invincible Tiger: Legend of Han Tao will be coming to your Playstation and Xbox Network sometime in Spring 2009.

The screenshots I looked at make them look like an old-school look but uses some new-school game tools.

Personally I thought it looked like Kung Fu Panda when I saw the splash screen from Blitz Website.

I might like it on my PSP or iPhone to play as well.

Check out Blitz for more info on Invincible Tiger.

Xbox Ring Of Death New Meaning With Murder

Friday, February 20th, 2009

It’s bad enough when early Xbox 360’s had the “Ring of Death” light showing and the system dying on you but it’s sad to know that your life could end over a simple thing like a small box…

In Manchester, Shane Boyd, a 16 year old, stabbed another 16 year old (Conner Black) at a house party back in August for an argument over a Xbox.

To top it off, Shane Boyd’s cousin John Boyd, 20, is also sentenced to three years for assault and perverting the course of justice. It seems John was trying to help his cousin from going to jail by threatening a 16 year old he believed had told the police that Shane was the murderer.

This is just sad.

Xbox 360 In The Red

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

That’s right, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 could be in the red next time you’re trying to buy the console.

It’s not an economic slump but a color change for a marketing exclusive for EB Games, and so far it’s only for New Zealand but how soon before we see it on it’s native soil?
