Ironman - the Marvel Hero

Ironman for PS3

Well, until I had seen the trailer for Ironman, the movie with Robert Downey, Jr. in it, I would have been asking who could play the character of Ironman. I think Robert is a good choice for the movie and I can’t wait to see the movie as well as try my hand at the game.

With that said, Ironman is coming to your PS3, PSP, PS2, Xbox 360, Wii and DS.

The game play looks pretty good, but standard affair. Fly, shoot, toss, and destroy; all in a days work for Ironman.

Check out the Ironman contest, as seen on the YouTube video posted above: Machinima. The contest runs April 7 - May 18 for some cool prizes.

Reports have some people smashing their TV sets while playing with their Wii remotes. The tendency to have the wiimotes fly out of the player hands have been noted by Panasonic and they have created a new screen for their screens that can withstand up to 4 joules of kinetic energy due to a special coating sprayed onto the TV screens.

Alright it’s Wii time!

Wireless Guitar Controllers for Guitar Hero III

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

Hate to be tangled up in lines when you’re rocking out?

Activision sent out a press release announcing plans for the Guitar Hero III wireless controllers designed by Gibson designs.

I am not sure if Gibson is manufactoring them or giving Activision the rights to the design but players on the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii will be using the exclusive Gibson Guitar’s Les Paul model.

The PS2 gamers will be able to shred on the Gibson’s Kramer guitar.

The ETA for these guitars are early 2008.

Is Manhunt 2 for Wii more violent?

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

Manhunt 2 is making waves again for the gory violence that people can play out (performing the motions of violence) with the Wii system.

Here’s a parady spoof of “Wii would like to play Manhunt 2.” Check out the YouTube video made by phazoncandy. The clip uses scenes from the original Manhunt. He did not have recent clips to use.

The US senators Hillary Clinton (Presidential candidate), Joe Lieberman, Evan Bayh, and Sam Brownback has issued this statement:

“That system [The Wii] permits children to act out each of the many graphic torture scenes and murders in Manhunt 2 rather than simply manipulating a game pad.”

EA Causal Games interview

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

The Mercury News has an interview with EA Causal Games chief Kathy Vrabeck.

Read why EA will never have loud blarring music or cute cheerleaders at events to promote it’s products.

Alright, I’m being lazy here and just posting a quick quip by Mrs. Vrabeck and it’s not even an accurate quote but you can read the whole article on Mercury News anyway.

The article mentions how EA has switched gears and learn to monitize their game divisions for better profits for the company.
