How will Blu-Ray play on your PSP
Saturday, January 12th, 2008In an earlier post about Blu-Ray movies on PS3, I mentioned that future Blu-ray discs will contain a smaller version of the movie for uploading to your PSP via the PS3.
I figured that the format might be in MP4 and assuming that quality is a key concern, MP4 should be used.
A recent release by GamingInsider mentions that a Sony employee revealed to the writer that the PSP would be receiving DivX Certification in an upcoming firmware update to the PSP.
The DivX format on the PSP will allow for download of movies and TV shows via the PSN store or from the store on the PS3, or third-party retailers.
The DivX format will be supported in the PSP 4.0 update.
Whether its DivX or MP4, PSP users will have a grand time viewing shows on their PSP.
