PS3 Outsells Wii Games

Monday, April 6th, 2009

In recent news from Reuters, it’s reported that Sony’s Ps3 has two games that has now outsold Nintendo Wii game sales figures.

With Nintendo having outsold Sony with over 10 million units, 16.2 million Wii units compared to 6.3 million PS3 consoles, the sales of two exclusive games for the PS3 proves that if game makers make games that people wish to play, people will go and buy the consoles to play them.

Thanks to Sega’s Yakuza 3 (Ryu Ga Gotoku 3) and Capcom’s RE5 (Resident Evil 5), which were exclusive to the PS3, it has outsold Wii games.

The sales does not mean the downward spiral of Nintendo games, as more developers will start creating games for Wii as the cost of development has gone down as well for the Wii and that also means that Nintendo can lower prices of their consoles and still make profit from the sales.

If anything, Sony’s PS3 developer kit which now costs $2000 should also help developers start creating more games, if not more online downloadable content for their Playstation Store…

Indiana Jones And The Staff Of Kings For Wii The PSP And The DS In Spring 2009

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

That’s right, the game that’s been promised for release as Indiana Jones 2007, became Indiana Jones 2008, is now looking to become a reality in 2009.

Lucus Arts released the trailer for the game, “Indiana Jones and The Staff of Kings” on the internet and the reaction from netizens seem to be that they think it’s freaking awesome!

The game trailer looks great the quality of the graphics will be nowhere as near what is shown on the trailer if you were to play it on the Wii, PSP, or the DS. I have a feeling that a Xbox 360 or PS3 version will be coming out as well.

Watch out for Indiana Jones coming in Spring of 2009.

PS2 Outplays PS3, Wii And The Xbox

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

It seems that the world still loves the PS2 the best, and the amount of usage is nothing to laugh at.

The PS2 has 30.2% of minutes played compared to the Xbox 360 which has 18.3%, Wii at 13.5%, Xbox at 9.1%, PS3 at 7.7%, and GameCube at 4.4%!

More interesting is that World of Warcraft (WOW) has over 11 hours of use per week on the PC side which is almost 1% (.723%) of all PC games!

I admit I haven’t played my PS3 as much lately but I am using it for watching Blu-Ray movies more this month.

Xbox360 goes Wii like Mii

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

It seems Microsoft is going goo goo for Avatars similar to Nintendo’s Mii avatars on the Wii.

Microsoft’s NXE is the new look/interface of the Xbox Live Online and compared to the old “Blade” interface, the NXE is a much better interface.

The new look also supports a iTunes like frontend for the Online Store. The games, movies, and TV shows are seen as the cover boxes insted of the text list format of old.

Quantum of Solace

Who doesn’t love Bond, James Bond?

I just watched the movie this weekend and it was a great sequel for Daniel Craig to reprise his role as the British agent everyone dreams of being.

James Bond blows his enemy away.

James Bond blows his enemy away.

Daniel Craig isn’t your Roger Moore or the highly commercial advertisement influenced Pierce Brosnan. I was a high supporter of Pierce as the next James before he took the helms but quickly fell out of loving the Bond films with so much advertisements in the movie.

Pierce, to me, was the perfect Bond, but Daniel is the ultimate Bond; a grittier Bond, and a tougher Bond. Daniel isn’t afraid to get his pretty boy face roughed up to get the job done. You’ll see more cuts and blood on this Bond than any other Bond in history.

The game is a reflection of Daniel’s first film “Casion Royale” and “Quantum of Solace.” The game utilizes the likeness and voices of Daniel Craig and Judi Dench. The game is the story of how James Bond became the Bond we know today with a “License to Kill” as a Double O agent.

The game is still pretty much a shoot em up in the first person perspective but it has some new features that should make the game interesting for most players and the game goes online with a 12-player multiplayer mode. It also offers a “Bond vs.” mode which pits you against other players to complete the objectives first.

The game is available for Xbox360 (Asia edition), Xbox360 (US edition), PC, PS3, Wii, Nintendo DS, and PS2.

Wii Phases into Motion Capture

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Nintendo’s Wii system will soon see some pretty neat games coming up now that 3G Studios has upgraded their motion capture technology with PhaseSpace Impulse System’s capturing technology.

The optical motion capture system is now being used at 3G’s Reno, NV office. The $50,000 system will be used for upcoming products such as “Jillian Michael’s Fitness Ultimatum 2009″ for the Wii. Another, as yet, unannounced game is in the works with the Impulse System.

We’ll have to see how well the product helps to bring out some interesting graphics using the motion capture device.
