Xbox 360 helps catch criminals

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

As many times as people have heard about scams and how these cyber criminals make away with people’s life savings, its also easy for criminals to fall for the same scam.

The El Paso police department and the U.S. Marshalls, working together, sent out messages to wanted criminals telling them that they have won a free Xbox 360, plasma TV or other prizes.

The police and the marshalls were able to arrest 115 felons with outstanding warrants over a five day period.

Hellboy: Science of Evil to be out in June 2008

Ah Hellboy, the demon child that grows up to save the world from evil… What a twist!

Hellboy: Science of Evil - image from Kromestudios

Fans of Hellboy will be rewarded with the release of “Hellboy: Science of Evil” on the PSP, PS3, Xbox 360 and even on your mobile phone around June 0f 2008.

The initial date of the release was sometime in 2007, but Krome Studios shows ETA and no dates showing for the release, currently, even thought their trailer shows 2007…

The E3 2007 game trailer looks like it’s for the PSP. YouTube commentors pretty much think the graphics look like its more for the PS2.

It does look pretty bad on YouTube, but I think it’s more due to the compression of the video, either that or its a PSP game trailer. Check out this video from Krome’s webpage link, it’ll take you directly to the quicktime vid.

Which Xbox 360 is right for you?

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

There are 5 variations of the Xbox 360 system: The “Elite” - $449.99, “Halo” - $399.99, “Pro” - $349.99, “Arcade” - $279.99, & “Core” - $199.99.

So which one should you get?

We don’t have to worry about the Core version, that’s discontinued, unless you can find one for sale.

To enjoy the full capabilities of the system, HD (High Definition) is a must! Having HDMI is top of my priority. The HD component cable is okay but nothing compares to HDMI.

Thankfully, all Xbox 360 systems made after July 2007 features HDMI ports. The Elite, Halo Edition, and Arcade models are equipped with HDMI ports. You will have to check the Pro and Core model to see if they have HDMI because only the newer Pro and Cores made after July 2007 will have them.

If your top priority is hard drive space, the Elite is the way to go with it’s 120 GB HDD.

My choice would be the Halo Edition or Pro. Its at a reasonable price and offers all the same features as the Elite minus the HDMI cable, and only 20GBs of HDD instead of the 120GB HDD in the Elite.

The Halo Edition compared to the Pro is about $50 dollars more but it offers a Play & Charge Kit in the bundle.

One last thing to consider is your older Xbox games. The Elite, Halo, and Pro are backwards compatible and it included a Wireless controller (the Arcade model also offers wireless controller in the bundle but is not backwards compatible).

Halo 3 Theme music free for Guitar Hero III

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

Bungie is offering the Halo theme for Guitar Hero III, free to PC and Xbox 360 users.

You can get the PC file right now at Fileshack, and the Xbox 360 file will be available on Marketplace on Thanksgiving day.

Found out about this on gamestooge.

Its 9:37 AM (Pacific Time) and I have not been able to find the free Halo 3 download on Marketplace. The fileshack offers the theme download but Microsoft seems to have dropped the ball. On Music 4 Games, you can read the extensive article on the offer, that I just finished reading, prior to updating this now.
